William Liang Tak Chiang is a Malaysian entrepreneur and the founder of Hexagon Highs, a logistics company established in 2005. Raised in Sarikei, Sarawak, Liang pursued his secondary education locally before earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Canada. After becoming a registered Malaysian pharmacist in 1992 and operating two pharmaceutical wholesale companies, he shifted focus to the logistics sector.

In 2015, Liang implemented a five-year plan to transform Hexagon Highs into a comprehensive logistics service provider, expanding its services to include customs brokerage, air, sea, land forwarding, warehousing, and last-mile delivery. Under his leadership, the company received International Integrated Logistics Services (IILS-2) status from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in 2018.
Liang’s innovative initiatives, such as introducing 45-foot containers and B-Double tandem trailers, have led to significant cost savings and reduced carbon emissions. His commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles is evident in projects like developing an organic truck coolant and establishing an ISO tank washing facility with an industrial effluent treatment system.

Committed to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, Liang initiated the development and research, in collaboration with UNIMAS, to successfully formulated an organic truck engine coolant with long-life effectiveness and superior anti-corrosion performance as compared to conventional inorganic engine coolants in the market, reflecting the company’s dedication to sustainability and eco-friendly practices through innovation and automation.

In recognition of his entrepreneurial achievements, Liang was honored with the Master Entrepreneur award at the Premier of Sarawak Industry Excellence Awards (PSIEA) 2023.
